Support for Programs

ENB takes a comprehensive, wraparound approach to strengthening ESOL programs across Greater Boston. In addition to providing grants, ENB supports the full ecosystem that helps immigrant students succeed. This includes developing specialized curricula, offering one-on-one career coaching for students, investing in teacher training, and providing practical resources that strengthen programs throughout the region.

Grants

Current partner organizations

ENB supports dozens of ESOL programs across Boston with financial support. If you are a nonprofit interested in grants, please sign up for our newsletter to be alerted to when there are grant opportunities.

ESOL Curricula

One of the benefits that ENB brings to the field of ESOL is our curriculum resources.  These include our ESOL for Parents and Caregivers curriculum guide, our English for Immigrant Entrepreneurs curriculum and also multiple resources on teaching digital literacy.  Partnered with our training and technical assistance, these resources help Boston's ESOL programs to succeed.

Career Coaches / Immigrant Economic Resilience Initiative (IERI)

Through ENB’s Immigrant Economic Resilience Initiative (IERI), a cadre of three multi-lingual career coaches foster quality employment and small business opportunities for students who attend our seven most grassroots community programs across Boston. Coaches work one-on-one with individuals to prepare them and support them in the employment recruitment process.

Simultaneously, the coaches cultivate relationships with quality employers interested in providing advancement opportunities for talented hires. The ENB coaching model is tailored to immigrants with diverse English levels, educational and work backgrounds, and career aspirations.

IERI builds out capacity to assist immigrants in increasing their English skills and securing a stable economic pathway. Programs customized to employment for sectors with staff shortages, and entrepreneurship, offer not only routes out of poverty, but a key strategy to fuel economic mobility.

Teacher Training & Support

In ENB Community of Practice Groups, teachers of similar classes share ideas and support each other.  ENB also offers cohort-based trainings for our specialized initiatives such as ESOL for Parents and English for Immigrant Entrepreneurs, enabling our programs and independent providers to share best practices and form peer learning communities. Technical assistance offers more intensive support to help programs with planning, assessment, recruitment/retention, and other topics.

Resources for Teachers

ENB provides a range of practical resources to support ESOL teachers and strengthen classroom instruction.
