Iván is a bilingual Career Coach who facilitates workforce readiness through weekly group workshops and one-on-one coaching for English language learners at English for New Bostonians community ESOL programs. As an ICF Certified Professional Coach with 100 hours of formal training, he coaches adult learners for job opportunities by tailoring career plans to their unique work experience, skills, education, and goals.
In his role, Iván guides students through resume building, job-search strategies, networking, U.S. work culture, and interviewing techniques, while serving as a vital placement liaison between employers and students. He also supports the assessment team with BEST Plus 3.0 testing and holds a Mental Health First Aid certification, ensuring a trauma-informed and holistic approach to student success. He coaches and presents workshops in English and Spanish and enjoys mentoring entrepreneurs, dancing, and traveling in his free time.
Iván began his non-profit career in 2010 as a volunteer co-teacher at Framingham Adult ESL Plus. He worked more than 10 years as an Education and Career Advisor in the “Dream Center,” empowering adult learners, administering over 500 English proficiency assessments, and presenting crucial workshops on financial literacy and scam prevention. Beyond adult education, Iván brings over 15 years of successful corporate experience in sales, management, and customer service from leading companies like Verizon, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and Rosetta Stone.
